On 10/6/2017 Ms Nguyen Tu Anh was elected Chairwoman ofBoard of Directors (BOD). Mr Le Quoc Hung was assigned to be the Deputy General Director .

On 1/6/2017 Mr Pham Tien Dung, Chairman of BOD was appointed by the State Bank as the Director of its Payment Department. Ms Nguyen Tu Anh was appointed by the State Bank as the representative of the state capital in the Corporation.

​In July 2016, the Corporation completed the 24/7 quick funds transfer system for 39 banks, thus expanding transaction channels and facilitating funds transfer/receipt using accounts or card numbers.  In May 2016, the State Bank of Vietnam continued to increase its capital contribution ratio to 49% of the corporate charter capital.

In April 2016, the Corporation successfully organized the launching ceremony of the NAPAS national card brand (NAPAS is abbreviated from National Payment Services).

In February 2016, the Company changed its name to the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam.


​In November 2015, the Company completed the conversion of clearing and settlement via the IBPS system of the State Bank, integrating the domestic card switching system for 43 banks, and creating an

infrastructure for unified card switching among Vietnamese banks.

On 01/04/2015, the Company completed its merging with the Smartlink Card Services Joint Stock Company in accordance with the Business Registration Certificate 0101517122 issued by Ha Noi Department of Planning and Investment.


In December 2014, the Company signed the Merger Agreement with the Smartlink Card Services Joint Stock Company at the Headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam. 


​In August 2011, the Company expanded the interconnection of its 5 member banks’ POS networks with the Smartlink Card Service Joint Stock Company.

On 19/04/2011, the Company participated in interconnecting the system of the points of sale situated in Da Nang City.


​In December 2010, the Company completed interconnecting its domestic debit card payment system via POS for 15 commercial banks in Ho Chi Minh City with the Smartlink Card Services Joint Stock Company and the Vina Smart Card Joint Stock Company (VNBC).

In October 2010, the Company officially became a member of the Asian Payment Network (APN).

In September 2010, the Company conducted interconnection of its POS system with the Smartlink Card Services Joint Stock Company in the area of Ha Noi.In May 2010 in Ha Noi, the Company announced the launching of the interconnection of its interbank card payment system with the Vina Smart Card Joint Stock Company (VNBC).

In March 2010, the State Bank of Vietnam became the largest shareholder of the Company with a capital contribution of 31.5 billion VND (accounting for 25% of the corporate charter capital).


​In July 2009, the Company launched its connection with a Chinese card switching organization – the China Union Pay (CUP).


In May 2008, the Company interconnected its ATM switching system with the Smartlink Card Services Joint Stock Company.

​ In April 2007, the Company launched the operation of the Banknetvn Switching System, connecting the first three banks namely Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Industrial and Commercial Bank of Vietnam, and Saigon Bank for Industry and Trade.


From April 2006 to April 2007, the Company developed the Banknetvn Switching System.​


In September 2005, the Company became a member of the Vietnam Bank Card Association.

​In July 2004, the Company was granted the Business Registration Certificate No. 0103004894 by Ha Noi Department of Planning and Investment and the License to Conduct Payment Operations No. 06 / NHNN-GP by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

In June 2004, the General Meeting of Shareholders founding the Company approved the Charter on Organization and Operation of the Vietnam National Financial Switching Joint Stock Company.

In February 2004, the Prime Minister agreed to the establishment of the Vietnam National Financial Switching Joint Stock Company.

In January 2004, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) submitted to the Prime Minister its request for approval of the establishment of the Vietnam National Financial Switching Joint Stock Company.
